Calatrava 8-day, ref. 5328G-001
Patek Philippe enriches its range of everyday complications with a new Calatrava model featuring instantaneous day (in an aperture) and date (by hand) displays at 6 o'clock and an eight-day power reserve indicated at 12 o'clock.
A new movement with instantaneous day/date displays and eight-day power reserve
The Manufacture has developed a new movement – manually wound 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J caliber – harmoniously combining a classic construction with a number of technical innovations and optimizations, such as the Pulsomax® escapement with Silinvar® escape-wheel and lever, initially developed as part of the Patek Philippe Advanced Research program. The two series-coupled barrels guarantee perfectly accurate operation for eight full days, with a ninth extra ‘reserve’ day displayed in red on the arched indicator at 12 o'clock to inform the user that the movement requires winding. The day-date displays jump instantaneously at midnight.

A textured blue dial
The textured blue dial with black-gradient rim dial is adorned with white gold applied numerals and hour/minute hands highlighted with white luminescent coating. A small hand marks the seconds at 6 o'clock in the day and date subdial. This highly legible arrangement of indications along a vertical axis gives the dial a unique personality. The entire circumference of the white gold caseband is adorned with Patek Philippe's emblematic guilloched hobnail pattern.
A new patented fold-over clasp
The watch comes with two straps: one in blue calfskin with fabric pattern and cream-colored stitching (original); the other in grained taupe calfskin (additional strap). The new patented triple-blade fold-over clasp enhances safety and comfort while facilitating fast, easy and tool-free strap interchangeability.
